HOW HE GOT HERE: Signed an SPC in October 2018
CONTRACT STATUS: Maine Mariners

McNicholas was playing in Norway to start 2018-19 when he decided to return to the U.S. and sign with the Mariners in late October 2018. With just three ECHL games under his belt from a brief stop in Indy in 2017-18, McNicholas became one of the most consistent players in the Mariners lineup, finishing second on the team in points (53) and leading the squad in assists (40). He scored his first pro goal on November 10th, 2018 against the Worcester Railers at the Cross Insurance Arena – the game winner in a 3-1 victory. McNicholas also scored three shootout goals in 2018-19. Appearing in 65 games, only Ryan Ferrill (68) put on the Mariners uniform more times in the inaugural season. Prior to turning pro, the play-making forward spent four seasons at the University of New Hampshire after two years of Juniors in the BCHL.
