Player Bio

HOW HE GOT HERE: Signed an SPC in July 2019
CONTRACT STATUS: Maine Mariners

Tschantz was a 2014 draft pick (7th round) by the St. Louis Blues, but never signed with them. A big final season of Junior hockey with the USHL’s Indiana Ice earned him a DI deal to Cornell University where he played a fairly quiet four years. In four games as a debuting pro with Worcester in 2017-18, Tschantz scored his first goal. He signed with the Mariners in July of 2018 and would be one of just four players to spend the entire season on the roster. After a slow start in Maine, Tschantz finished the season strong, scoring seven of his nine goals between February 15th and the end of the season. On March 8th against South Carolina, he registered his first multi-goal game. Tschantz was named the 2018-19 “Most Improved Player” by the Mariners coaching staff.
