HOW HE GOT HERE: Assigned by the Buffalo Sabres in August 2018
CONTRACT STATUS: Buffalo Sabres (NHL)

A third round pick in 2014 by Buffalo, Martin was assigned to the Mariners for 2018-19 and enjoyed a career year, leading all Maine defensemen in scoring. With 28 points in 54 games, he far and away surpassed his previous professional career high set the previous season in Cincinnati (11 points). Martin has played 20 career games in AHL with Rochester, but has not registered a point at that level. On March 17th, 2019 against Newfoundland, Martin registered three assists, becoming the first Mariner in history to do so. He is also the owner of the lone Mariners overtime goal at the Cross Insurance Arena to date, coming February 13th, 2019 against Worcester.
