The ‘middle’ Kessel between younger sister Amanda and older Brother Phil, the veteran defenseman joined the Mariners via trade with Jacksonville on February 17th, 2019. Just shy of 300 career games between the ECHL and AHL, the Mariners are his 13th organization, not including time in Europe. Kessel was an ECHL All-Star in 2014-15 with Orlando and has played as many as 56 games in a season at the AHL level. Kessel played three seasons of college hockey at nearby University of New Hampshire, putting up big offensive numbers from the blue line, including 38 points in 38 games in 2019-10. Kessel scored his only Mariners goal of 2018-19 in his team debut on February 20th at Reading.
