PORTLAND, ME – January 20, 2019 – Defenseman Zach Tolkinen and forward Terrence Wallin were returned from the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack back to the Mariners on Sunday. Both players were loaned – Tolkinen just yesterday and Wallin for the third time this season this past Wednesday.
Tolkinen skated in warmups, but did not play last night in Hartford’s 3-0 loss to Springfield. He was loaned to an AHL team for the first time in his nearly 300-game pro career on Saturday. The Mariners captain played a big part in Friday’s 1-0 win over Manchester, with a fight and an assist on the game’s only goal.
Wallin was in his third stint with Hartford and also did not play last night. He did suit up on Friday, in a 6-5 OT win against Lehigh Valley, giving him 13 games played for the Wolf Pack this season. Wallin is still seeking his first AHL point.
The Mariners are off for the All-Star break, returning to play next Friday, January 25th at the Cross Insurance Arena against the Manchester Monarchs at 7:15 PM. It’s “White Out Night” as fans are encouraged to wear white clothing for a chance to win tickets to the March 8th Stanley Cup Visit when the Mariners host South Carolina. It’s also Maine Children’s Cancer Night presented by Anthem and local business and non-profit night. All Friday home games feature $1 hot dogs, $2 popcorn, and $3 Bud Lights through the start of the 2nd period.
