PORTLAND, ME – November 20, 2023 – The Maine Mariners will continue to show their support to the community of Lewiston during their game this Friday, November 24th as they take on the Reading Royals at the Cross Insurance Arena. The team will wear specialty warmups jerseys, which will be auctioned off and host an “enter-to-win,” with proceeds from both initiatives supporting the victims and families of the October 25th mass shooting.
The specialty warmup jerseys include the names of the 18 victims of the tragedy listed on the sleeves, with “Lewiston Strong” surrounding the state of Maine on the front. All jerseys will have the number “207,” the state’s area code. Fans will be able to bid on the jerseys via Handbid, with proceeds supporting the Lewiston community through the Maine Community Foundation and the Boston Bruins Foundation.
In addition to the auction, the Mariners have received several prizes from their partners which will be donated through an “enter-to-win.” Tickets for the enter-to-win will be available for purchase at Friday’s game, with proceeds going to the Maine Community Foundation. Friday’s game begins at 7:15 PM, with general doors opening at 6:15. The theme of the game is “Jersey Friday,” and the first 500 children 12 and under will receive a Mariners youth replica jersey, presented by Taro Health. The Mariners are also home on Saturday at 6 PM against Reading once again, for Monopoly Night” and a full team postgame autograph session.
